Kenrokutei Oyado is one of Kanazawa’s leading ‘one-room-only’ accommodation facilities. It is available as a machiya (townhouse) for private use and can accommodate only one group of guests per day. The two-storey, two-bedroom house features a kitchen and an open-plan bathroom with a view of the garden, making it a private and spacious accommodation option for families and close friends.
Kenrokutei Oyado is managed by dedicated Kanazawa locals who have meticulously renovated, built, and designed the property. It is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Kenrokuen Garden and within walking distance of various other tourist attractions.
The location of Kenrokutei Oyado was once the residence of Kiyama Sukeemon(帰山 助右衛門) during the Kan’ei period of the Edo period (1600-1868). Born in Kanazawa, Kiyama Sukeemon worked as a draper in Edo for 19 years before returning to spend the rest of his life in Kanazawa. The property remains a cherished place that continues to convey the history of Kanazawa to this day.
Please consider using Kenrokutei Oyado, a machiya (townhouse) that encapsulates the essence of Kanazawa, as your base for sightseeing and other activities in Kanazawa.
